Making Your Home Photo Ready

Arrangements will be made for a professional photographer employed by Phoebe Martin Real Estate to take photos of your home, this will also be whne we capture the virtual tour. To ensure that we get the best photos, we need your help for preparation! Please use the following checklist to help you get your home photo ready.

General:

  • Clean, clean, and clean some more

  • Remove any seasonal decorations that could date the photos.

  • Move any trash, including garbage cans, and stow from view.

  • Remove any pet items (food, beds, litter boxes, toys).

Exterior:

  • Aim for near and tidy during any season! In summer, mow regularly, clear weeds, and prune.

  • Stow your outdoor garbage, recycling, and compost bins in a garbage or other area.

  • Declutter any toys, yard equipment, or otherwise and stow in garage or other storage area.

All Interior:

  • Turn on all light fixtures and lamps, and ensure that all light bulbs are in working order.

  • Allow as much natural light into the house by opening all curtains and blinds.

  • Hide electrical cords from view as much as possible.

  • Minimize artwork and wall clutter. Remove children’s decorative names.

  • Minimize or hide from view collections, such as dolls, models, figurines, etc.

  • Declutter shelves and organize the remaining items. Remove tissue boxes.

  • Remove all bills, mail, and paperwork.

  • Turn off all computer screens and TVs.

  • Close all drawers and cabinet doors.

  • Turn off any ceiling fans.

Bathrooms:

  • Clean mirrors, toilet, shower/tub, floor, sink, and countertops

  • Close toilet seats

  • Remove all rugs, towels, or mats unless they are decorative.

  • Clear baths and showers of products, washcloths, loofas., etc.

  • Clear robes, slippers, and any clothes from view.

  • Reduce items on countertops

Bedrooms:

  • Make beds and ensure that all pillows are neatly arranged.

  • Clear or minimize items on bedside tables

  • Ensure that any items stored beneath beds are out of sight.

  • Keep all clothing stored out of sight.

  • Shut closet doors.

Living Areas:

  • Arrange any books or magazines on tables neatly.

  • Put away blankets, unless decorative.

  • Ensure that pillows are arranged neatly on chairs and sofa.
