Home Preparation Guide
Here are some tips and ideas to help you start getting your home ready for the market. Photos are incredibly important, and so is the preparation for your home being shown in person. These general tips will help get your home to a place where buyers can evision how wonderful the home would be for them!
-
Do your best to revert all rooms to their original purpose. Do you have a flex space in your home? Do you best to dedicate it to one use (an office, bedroom, play room, etc.), or reduce the clutter so it can be seen as a blank canvas.
-
Donate or sell items you no longer need or don’t want to move with. If you are unsure of where to donate, contact us for our local list!
-
Make your bathroom feel clean and as close to “spa-like” as is can be. Remember to clear your shower/bath, it will be photographed!
-
Make your yard neat and tidy during all seasons! If it’s winter, clear your walkways and driveway well for safety during showings.
-
Clean up any dirt or grease spots. Clear the room to help ensure the potential buyer can fit their car(s) into the garage.
-
Make sure you are showcasing the real estate of your kitchen, your countertops! Remove any small appliances or large items and stow them away.
-
Make the room look more spacious by removing a few pieces of furniture and putting away knicknacks.
